Does the applicant have a valid Mainland home return permit? Q3. Does the designated driver have a valid Hong Kong driving licence? Q4. Does the designated driver have a valid Mainland driving licence for small vehicles? Q5. Have you prepared the following supporting document (colour image in jpg or png format, pdf is not acceptable)? (i) Vehicle Registration Document (front page);(ii) Applicant’s Hong Kong Identity Card (both the front and back pages);(iii) Applicant’s Home Return Permit (both the front and back pages);(iv) Designated drivers’ Hong Kong Identity Card (both the front and back pages);(v) Designated drivers’ Home Return Permit, or foreign passport with valid visa/endorsement (or residence permit, permanent resident card), or other international travel documents with valid visa/endorsement (or residence permit, permanent resident card) for entering the Mainland (both the front and back pages);(vi) Designated drivers’ Mainland Driving Licence (both the front and side page);(vii) Designated drivers’ Declaration Form (front page) (Apart from the applicant, each designated driver is required to fill out the Declaration Form. Please refer to the FAQ6 of the thematic website for details and sample)’(viii) Certificate of Roadworthiness (COR) for the vehicle (front page) (only applicable to Hong Kong private cars aged 6 years above (i.e. manufactured in 2019 or before with applications being submitted in 2026) and the certificate is issued by designated car testing centres in Hong Kong).(Note 1: In case vehicle owners have already conducted vehicle examination for the renewal of vehicle licences, for applications under "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles", they may directly submit the latest COR. For the purpose of renewal of vehicle license, applicants are required to submit the COR in accordance with the relevant requirements.Note 2: In facilitating vehicle owners in applying for "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles", the Transport Department has liaised with the Designated Car Testing Centres (DCTCs) in making special arrangement for vehicles aged 6 years with vehicle licences not due for expire within 4 months to receive vehicle examination. Relevant vehicle owners may contact DCTCs for arranging vehicle examination and obtaining the COR. Online appointment booking will not be accepted.
